Green meetings at the Hofburg Vienna
"Think green: This is a core topic in the congress and conference industry. You can do your part for the environment and prove it to your guests and clients by obtaining a green certification of your meeting, congress or conference! We would be happy to support you in the administration of your Green Meeting at the Hofburg Vienna. Our guideline How to make a green event" provides an array of useful information about everything you need to create an eco-friendly event.
At the Hofburg Vienna, we also have a team of highly trained personnel who are standing by to help you certify your conference, meeting or event. The Austrian Ministry of Life and the Association for Consumer Information have issued a guideline (called Richtlinie UZ62) that contains the requirements for obtaining the Austrian eco-label. These requirements apply to the organising agency and all aspects of the meeting the team at Hofburg Vienna can assist you in complying with them. In principle, only congresses, conventions, official corporate meetings and fairs are currently eligible for the Austrian eco-label.
Checklist
The following is a helpful checklist on the certification for the Austrian eco-label:
- A certified licensing officer must be assigned to evaluate the passage of the entire event.
- He or she must ensure compliance with Richtlinie UZ62. The event must achieve a specific minimum number of points.
- The event organiser gathers supporting documentation to demonstrate that the meeting has reached the minimum number of points, which licensing officer coordinates and submits.
- Depending on the scope of the services performed, you can expect the certification costs to range from EUR 700.00 to 5,000.00, including VAT.
We would be happy to forward your contact information (at your request) to our Green Meeting parnters. In turn, they can advise you as Licensee with the rest of the certification process.
