Bright prospects for the HOFBURG Vienna

2023 and the next few years will be all about reactivating national and international markets. Events seem to have lost none of their appeal as a means of inspiring people and driving innovation. An effective event concept is vital for creating inspirational encounters. Participants are looking for special experiences that will stay with them for a long time, as a memento of the event. Our innovative 3D visualisations are also opening up new perspectives. The Hofburg state rooms and all furnishings can now be viewed virtually, which allows for true-to-life 3D event previews.

Looking to the future – event highlights

The autumn season is already taking shape, with various congresses in the highly promising scientific segment. September kicks off with The Autonomous Main Event 2023, followed by the 46th European Society of Neuroradiology (ESNR) Annual Meeting. The HR Inside Summit on 11 and 12 October is all about thinking outside the box. This diverse, multifaceted platform enables representatives of the Austrian HR sector to compare notes on topics related to the new world of work. With more than 2,000 participants, the event features inspirational talks and keynote speeches from experts on a range of HR-related subjects, as well as fascinating workshops and more than 60 exhibitors from leading companies. The schedule also includes the HR Award Gala dinner and show in the Hofburg Festsaal, which showcases the most innovative projects and brightest ideas from the HR industry.

The Hofburg Vienna will also set the stage for a series of outstanding exhibition concepts, including Design District 1010 from 6 - 8 October, and Art & Antique Hofburg Vienna which is taking place between 9 and 13 November. These events create experiences and impressions which set them apart from other exhibitions on the emotional level. “Smart and effective are the watchwords,” says Managing Director Alexandra Kaszay.

Numerous high-level science and research conferences are also lined up for late 2023 and the coming years. The annual meeting of the Austrian Society for Anesthesiology, Reanimation and Intensive Care Medicine will be held from 23 - 25 November, while the 15th Global Peter Drucker Forum is taking place on 30 November and 1 December. Organised by the International Society for Stem Cell Research, the Vienna International Symposium at the Hofburg Vienna will address a host of exciting topics between 4 and 6 December.

Science will also be on the agenda in February 2024, just after the curtain comes down on the Hofburg’s hugely popular ball season. Around 1,200 delegates will be taking part in the 68th Annual Meeting of the Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis Research, which is followed in March by the 21st Annual Meeting of the Austrian Society of Neurology.
The Hofburg Vienna team is already looking forward to an outstanding year of congresses in 2024!

3D technology – visualising the Hofburg

3D visualisations of events in the Hofburg’s unique historic surroundings open up completely new perspectives. Technology specialists were instrumental in helping to recreate the spaces at the venue. “Our customers can build up an impression of the facilities in a comprehensive, interactive virtual environment,” explains Managing Director Alexandra Kaszay.

Staff from our partner MediaApparat scanned the state rooms using laser technology before converting the data into a 3D model. Visual artists from Visual Events designed the effects that bring to life the marble, parquet floors and unique crystal chandeliers at the venue, as well as a host of other details. A library of 3D objects in the software can be used to illustrate set-up options featuring the furnishings available for all of the state rooms at the Hofburg. All of the furniture provided at the venue has been recreated virtually – from gold chairs at banquet tables to leather seats in the conference room, as well as lecterns, leather armchairs, registration desks and even cordon posts.

The application sets new standards thanks to the high degree of precision of the 3D CAD event software, a creative tool that is aimed not only at our customers, but also our partners and event agencies. Both the ground floor and mezzanine levels can be depicted in 3D using this flexible event planning option. And the models generated give an even deeper insight into the imperial venue with its contemporary glass architecture. Media and event technology play a major role at the Hofburg Vienna.

Expertise and professionalism – our passion

Events should offer a mix of inspiration, information, entertainment and networking. Often, the unknown – the allure of not knowing precisely what to expect – can be really exciting. Event participants want to make their own decisions about what’s right for them at any given time, to see themselves not just as recipients of messages but also as playing an active part in proceedings.

Performances, interesting on-stage talks and additional workshops are just as important a part of the planning process as live podcasts and influencer meet-and-greets. Put simply, demands have changed when it comes to focusing on experiences. Audiences expect more interactive elements that capture their imaginations. “We already know that aesthetics, interaction and collaboration are playing a much bigger role than in the past. Today, it’s not just a question of laying the groundwork for new business relationships, it’s also about building contacts and community networking. And all of this creates further added value for our participants,” explains Managing Director Alexandra Kaszay.

Light shows, eye-catching projection technologies and a larger proportion of virtual elements are making the technical aspects of event planning even more exciting. Visitors might not be aware of this, but everybody behind the scenes knows that staging events would be a non-starter without technology. So our in-house Technology Department makes a significant contribution to the success of all the events we host.
